The Definition of Insanity
“Doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different result.”
O.K. so that’s Einstein’s definition technically, but it’s better than any dictionary version I’ve ever seen.
We’re all guilty of it. Have you been caught up in the hamster wheel?
Find yourself at the gym 4 times a week for 6 months but haven’t lost a pound?
Find yourself eating what you thought was a healthier diet but still 30 lbs overweight?
Maybe it’s time to re-think your approach. Maybe you need to change your workout routine; maybe you need some new skills; maybe you need some new friends; change of job; new intellectual or emotional stimulus; or maybe you need to re-evaluate your eating approach.
I can almost guarantee you should talk with a coach or mentor to figure out what is blocking you from reaching your objective.
If you’ve been at it for 6 months now and haven’t seen some results, get off the hamster wheel. Something is not working, you need to change something and you need to figure out what through experimentation.
It’s true that far too many of of us don’t give things the proper amount of time they need to work.
We also need to know that there is a limit, and 6 months is a pretty good time frame to start asking questions of anything you’ve managed to be consistent with.
Self-reflection is one of the most important skills you can learn in your weight-loss journey.
You’re not insane right?
